The Know Daily - Friday 24 April 2026

Read in 5m 24s ∙ Listening to Lorde

Hello hello,

There’s been some very big news this week that has frankly rocked my world… the Practical Magic 2 trailer dropped! Apologies if that was a bit anticlimactic, but I’ve been watching the teaser on repeat since it was released and couldn’t be more excited. Safe to say that you can find me at the front of the cinema queue come 18 September!

Our issue this week covers everything from the EU’s loan for Ukraine and rewilding UK waters, to fiction prizes and lab-grown diamonds. Scroll on for more of that, plus our usual round up of culture picks and a few recs to see you through the weekend ❣️

Happy Friday!

🗞 Read: Having a garden is such a luxury but it can sometimes be all-too-easy to forget that it’s something we share with wildlife. This piece is a brilliant guide on how to create a nature-friendly garden for anyone inspired by David Attenborough’s Secret Garden (if it’s good enough for Sir David, it’s good enough for me!). It doesn’t need to be a huge space, even a windowsill or small balcony can make a world of difference.

🎧 Listen: The LuxeGen podcast is one that I consistently dip in and out of. It’s my first port of call when I find myself on Instagram, completely baffled by a new trend or “lore” that keeps cropping up. I also just feel quite glam by association whenever I tune in 😏

📺 Watch: Kate Hudson’s fun (and very bingeable) series Running Point has returned for a second season. A new series with a similar vibe to The Handmaid’s Tale has also just been released. But if you’re after a bit of light relief, Twenty Twenty Six is a very silly but very clever mockumentary all about prepping for the FIFA World Cup.

🧑‍🍳 Cook: Radishes are in season and I couldn’t be more excited. Partly because they’re just so cute to look at, but also because it means I can whip out this recipe for zhuzhed roast potatoes… which is perfect for this early BBQ weather we’ve been given!
