Get in, we’re going electric! 🚗 For the first time, new electric cars are now cheaper on average than petrol models in the UK, according to Autotrader. Data shows EVs averaging around £42,620 compared to £43,405 for petrol cars – a shift driven by discounts and growing demand. It’s big moment that could help speed up the move towards more eco-friendly driving.

🤖 Deepfake protection on YouTube is now being opened up to anyone at risk of having their likeness misused – even if they don’t have a channel.

• The bigger story: The new tool uses AI to scan videos for faces that appear to have been generated or altered, helping people spot potential deepfakes of themselves. Users who sign up and verify their identity can review matches and request removal if content breaks platform rules. It was initially limited to a small group of creators, but is now being expanded more widely – including to people without an active presence on YouTube. 

👑 King Charles III’s US state visit will “proceed as planned” today, Buckingham Palace has confirmed, following a security incident in Washington DC over the weekend.

🐳 ”Super-groups” – pods of 20 or more in close proximity – are being formed by humpback whales in waters near South Africa, which experts say is a “testament to their recovery”.
