⚖️ The UK government has launched an unprecedented legal challenge over the Covid inquiry’s demand for Boris Johnson’s unredacted WhatsApp messages and documents from the period. Former PM Johnson urged the Cabinet Office to share the material with the inquiry, but the department is concerned this would set a precedent.
🇺🇸 Former US VP Mike Pence and ex-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are expected to enter the race for the 2024 Republican White House nomination as soon as next week, reports suggested. They’re set to challenge current frontrunner Donald Trump.
🇸🇩 The latest ceasefire in Sudan between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces failed to hold this week, as violence continues to flare in the capital Khartoum.

📚 Bloomsbury Publishing reported a surge in sales, saying that in “challenging economic times” more people are turning to reading as an affordable source of entertainment.

🔬 A world-first endometriosis breakthrough could improve the health of those living with the condition, after researchers grew tissue from every known type of endometriosis and compared how they responded to different treatments.
💻 Britain is Europe’s WFH capital, according to new research. Only around a third (34%) of employees in Britain are in the office for four or more days a week - less time than workers in other comparable economies.
