The Know Daily - Friday 3 July 2026

Read in 5m 24s ∙ Listening to Hunter Hayes

Happy Friday!

I was lucky enough to head to BST Hyde Park last weekend, and honestly, I've been talking about it ever since. There's just something about singing your heart out with thousands of other fans in the sunshine that can't be beaten! And the country fun doesn't stop there as I'm off to another festival this weekend. You can never have too much country... that's just a fact. 🤠

But before I dust off my cowgirl boots again, let's dive into this week's headlines and serve up a few recs to make your weekend just as fun.

Enjoy,

We’ll be honest: our business is built on the hopes that those that can afford to spare a few pounds can keep The Know free and accessible to all. But we can’t keep it going without your help – anything you’re able to give would go right back into helping us keep publishing in 2026. 💖

🗞 Read: This is one of those wonderfully niche stories you never knew you needed. Ever wondered why the Minions sound like that? It turns out their language isn't random at all. It's a carefully crafted mix of real languages, food names, funny-sounding words and even the occasional celebrity name (Rosamund Pike made the cut!). It might sound gloriously silly, but it's actually a fascinating peek behind the scenes at how one of the world's most recognisable fictional languages came to life.

📺 Watch: The Legally Blonde prequel has arrived, so that’s movie night sorted for this week. Whilst we’re on films, Enola Holmes 3 has also just been released… and Millie’s all grown up! And if you’re a culprit for always pestering your friends and family with “would you rather?” questions, then this series will definitely be up your street.

🎧 Listen: We’ve been waiting 21 years and it’s finally here – Madonna’s Confessions II has just dropped. We’ve only had it for a few hours so we've yet to choose our absolute fave track but Danceteria is definitely up there already!

🧑‍🍳 Cook: We’re deep into tomato season (hallelujah!) and these open bagels are such a fab way to enjoy them… especially when avoiding the oven during hot weather!
