Read in 5m 32s ∙ Listening to Taylor Swift

Hello hello!

Annabel here – I’ve been practically bouncing off the walls since Saturday. Any guesses why? Well, I haven’t been here long but one thing that was always going to come out pretty pronto is the fact that I am a huge Swiftie 🫶🏻 So, the news that Tay has managed to buy back the masters of all her records from Debut to Reputation has been headline of the week in my household (don’t worry, my flatmate is almost more obsessed than me).

But seriously, whether you love her music or not, I think it’s incredibly inspirational to see an artist reclaim ownership of their work in such a powerful, deliberate way. It’s a fearless reminder (‘scuse the pun) for women in the creative world and beyond that they can stand up for their rights and always know their worth. But I’m still holding out hope for at least a few vault tracks from Rep (TV)

Read on for your round-up of this week’s need-to-knows, as well as a few weekend treats we think you’ll love 💌

Love,

🗞 Read: In her photo series, Dry Land, Moroccan photographer Sara Benabdallah reimagines the traditional Fassi bridal dress not as a symbol of joy, but as an emblem of confinement. In this piece from The Guardian, she reflects on how garments meant to "exalt the bride" can also feel like "armour", capturing the tension between ritual celebration and the silent expectations placed on women. This is a must-read for anyone interested in how art can challenge tradition and reclaim narrative.

🎧 Listen: Of course, I have been listening to all Taylor’s OGs since she announced she had regained ownership. I can’t quite explain it but there’s just something about Red that just hits different… Anyway, I’m off to have a dance party in my kitchen 💃
