The Know Daily - Friday 7 March 2025

Read in 5m 42s ∙ Listening to Shygirl

Hello!

Lynn here – taking a quick detour before we dive into the headlines. With International Women’s Day around the corner, there are a few things I want to share 🤗

First up: our #LeaveAfterLoss campaign. If you’ve been with us for a while, you might remember that in 2022, The Know launched an effort to advocate for paid leave after baby loss in the UK. It was a deeply personal cause for me, and I was blown away by the response. We helped collect over 50k signatures on a petition working alongside a few MPs and incredible organisations.

Since then, we’ve kept the conversation going, and now, we have some VERY exciting news: our cause is set to be included in the upcoming worker’s rights reforms, which should clear its final Commons hurdles next week. We’ll break it all down once it’s official, but for now, we’re celebrating this major step forward 🥳

Another thing I’ve been thinking about? Economic equality for women. On Wednesday, I had the chance to visit the House of Lords (and of course, got a selfie) to learn more about the gender ISA gap, and it got me thinking about the role The Know can play from an education standpoint. Breaking down complex subjects in a way that actually makes sense is what we do best, and this is one conversation we’re excited to keep pushing forward.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming: the biggest headlines of the week and the best culture recs to fill up your weekend. Happy International Women’s Day! 💞

Xx,
