💻 Want to advertise your jobs to 200,000 women in the UK?

📣 Have your say: Women in England are being asked to take part in a “landmark” government survey to help shape reproductive health policy.

🇮🇳 A name change for India?: Leaders attending the G20 summit in New Delhi have been invited to a state dinner hosted by the “President of Bharat”.

🙅‍♀️ Working to live, not living to work: A new study has found that Brits are less likely than people from elsewhere to place importance on work.

Take a scroll through the shots which made up this year’s LensCulture Street Photography Awards (we especially loved Laetitia Vancon’s Tribute to Odesa). “These 37 photographers from 15 countries have captured moments that might otherwise vanish in the blink of an eye,” said LensCulture. Their work has certainly got the green light from us.

📣 Have your say

Women in England are being asked to help shape reproductive health policy by sharing their experiences in a “landmark” government survey launched today.

What’s the survey about?
It aims to gather “vital data” on women’s menstrual health, contraception, pregnancy planning and menopause, the Department of Health said in a statement.

Respondents are being asked to answer questions such as how much pain they experience during their periods, the way in which they’d prefer to access contraceptive services and their level of satisfaction with any support received for menopause symptoms.

The findings will be used to “help shape future policy” regarding women’s health.

Why is the survey needed?
One of its aims is to “end the postcode lottery” impacting some aspects of women’s healthcare, said Sky News.

The government has itself acknowledged that there are disparities across the country. Dr Rebecca French from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, which is delivering the survey, pointed out that poor reproductive health can also impact women’s “mental health, relationships and finances”.

What’s the bigger picture?
The survey follows the launch of the government’s much-delayed 10-year Women’s Health Strategy last summer, which vowed to tackle decades of “systemic” and “entrenched” gender health inequality. In addition to a survey, ministers also committed to introducing more cancer checks and compulsory women’s health training for doctors.

The survey is open to all women in England aged 16-55 and will run for six weeks - so make sure you have your say here!
