Hello hello,
Hope you’ve been enjoying all the razzle dazzle during this week of non-stop fireworks – apparently Bonfire Night in the UK has quietly expanded into a seven-day occasion? I must’ve missed the memo!
Anyway, now that the clocks have gone back, the evenings are properly dark by 5pm, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. There’s something about the early dusk that makes me want to hunker down, light a candle (or three) and really get on with the things I may or may not have been putting on the back burner/ the very bottom of my to-do list.
In the spirit of wrapping up loose ends, let’s dive into our usual roundup of the week’s headlines and culture picks ✨

🗞 Read: Have you ever had someone develop a nickname for you that you’re not a fan of but then don’t know how to nip it in the bud? If the answer is yes then this is your lucky day! This piece opens up the conversation and you can even have your say at the end (don’t worry, it’s totally anonymous! 😂).
🎧 Listen: Lily Allen’s new album has been on repeat this week (a little late to the party I know!) and oh my is it a wild ride! Tickets to her tour went on sale this morning and you bet I was first in the queue.
📺 Watch: There’s a new Robin Hood out which I will definitely be watching, but it also made me crave the old Disney version – why do I still wish I could somehow get my hands on a real life version of Maid Marion’s flower ring? Motherland is back on Netflix so obviously that has been a must-rewatch. Also, if you haven’t watched the John Lewis Christmas advert yet then you absolutely have to! Maybe make sure there are some tissues nearby though.
🧑🍳 Cook: This Nigel Slater recipe for toffee apple sundae has had me drooling all week – I know what I’m spending my Sunday afternoon working on!
