The Know Daily - Friday 9 May 2025

Read in 5m 24s ∙ Listening to Texas

Hello, hello!

I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of editor here at The Know 🫶🏻 This newsletter has been an absolute staple of mine ever since my first wade into journalism during my Master’s at City, University of London, all the way through my years as a journalist at The Times & The Sunday Times. So when I felt the itch for a new challenge, I reached out to Lynn, The Know’s co-founder and CEO (and resident tour de force), on the off chance she needed someone. We had plenty of chats about our thoughts on the news and how it’s consumed – it didn’t take long to realise our views aligned very closely – and the rest is serendipity! My professional background is very current affairs orientated as I hail directly from the newsroom. But don’t worry, I am also a staunch lover of books, art, culture, food… oh, and anything women-related. It is beyond exciting to be able to bring the best and brightest of these stories to your day!

But that’s enough about me 💁‍♀️ Today, Hannah and I have gathered together the week’s headlines and plenty of culture recs. Enjoy!
