Hi there ❤️
Here at The Know, we’re all too aware of the impact the news can have on our mental health. We feel it too.
And while we normally enjoy working through the headlines to bring you an easy-to-read digest, we’ve got to be honest with you that a week like this can really take its toll.
We wanted to take this space to remind you that, while it is much easier said than done, it is really important to stop, breathe and prioritise your wellbeing. That’s why you’ll find our guide to stopping doomscrolling in this week’s edition.
Scroll down for our usual roundup of the week’s biggest headlines, plus plenty of culture recs to hopefully bring some sunshine to your weekend.

Doomscrolling - the act of spending an excessive amount of screen time devoted to the absorption of negative news - is definitely something we’re guilty of doing, particularly during heavy news cycles.
But it’s so important to be mindful of how and when we consume the news - and where we’re getting it from (we’re looking at you, Instagram algorithm 👀). Not following the news 24/7 doesn’t mean we’re somehow disinterested or bad citizens - quite the opposite! It allows us to protect our energy so that we can better care for our friends, family and community - and most importantly, ourselves.
So check out 👉 our top tips for curbing your doomscrolling habit 👈 - from the people who’ve been there too.
