Happy Friday!
This year, I’ve really prioritised spending time with friends doing wholesome activities, namely having people over for dinner (and let’s face it, it’s much cheaper than going out these days 🫠). In all honesty, I like to think I’m the hostess with the mostess by now. I once pulled off a three-course Filipino-themed Christmas dinner for 25 – think crispy egg rolls, garlic-fried rice and stir-fried noodles 🤤
No easy feat, but for me, I’ve figured out there's no better way to tackle burnout than by surrounding myself with loved ones, eating delicious food. So, for this edition, we’ve pulled together a cute little guide on hosting. Head to weekend treats to read!
Love,
Hanna

Looking to take your gatherings up a notch? Our staff writer Hanna shares her tried-and-tested tips for hosting:
Picky bits
Laying out a board with a mix of items is the perfect way to cater to all your guests’ preferences and allergens. I’m obsessed with doing elevated chips & dips – broad bean hummus, tzatziki and Greek goddess dip paired with veggies, flatbreads and falafels.
Go all out
If you’re looking to switch things up, setting a theme is always a great shout. You could ask guests to bring their death row meals, or pick your fave destination and only have food, drinks and music from that place. For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee a couple of years ago, I served British tapas (chicken nuggets, jammy dodgers and party rings) and exclusively played British bops.
Plan an activity
I love arts & crafts sessions, and this instant camera has been so fun to pull out at gatherings. With over 20 filters, plus stickers and pens for customising prints, it’s a great way to jazz up selfies and make memories for life. Another fun activity is to put on your detective hats and get stuck into an at-home escape room game – it’s a more engaging, adult version of Cluedo!
