Happy Friday!

I’m Calypso, a self-discovery coach and The Know’s resident careers expert. This week I’m wondering: how worthy do you feel for the things in your life?

Yep, this is a pretty heavy topic for a Friday - but an important one nonetheless, as so many people I’ve spoken to through my work have come to me wanting help with strengthening their sense of self-worth.

Changing the way you feel about yourself deep down definitely isn’t easy - but my latest guide is designed to help you make a start at recognising your worth in the workplace and beyond.

Scroll down for all my tips 👇 along with our usual roundup of the week’s biggest global headlines, our Friday news quiz and culture recs to see you through the weekend.

Big love,

England’s Lionesses made it through to their first-ever World Cup final after a 3-1 win over hosts Australia on Wednesday. They take on Spain this Sunday.

WORK & INNOVATION

🩸 A new “spiral” shaped tampon was approved by the FDA in the US. Independent start-up Sequel, which patented the design, says the new shape better absorbs fluid.

🔬 A genetically modified pig kidney that was transplanted into a brain-dead patient over a month ago is still working normally, researchers revealed this week. “The experiment is one of several aimed at speeding the start of clinical trials on living humans,” said Sky News.

🥰 Knowing your worth

Self-worth - which is shaped by all our previous life experiences - affects every single thing we do. That’s why taking a moment to stop and think about how worthy we feel we are for the things in our lives, from our careers to relationships, can be a really valuable exercise.
