Dear readers,
I hope you’ve all had wonderful weeks and have managed to get out and soak up some sun (at least during its fleeting visits). With the seasons changing and the fact that it’s Earth Day tomorrow, the planet has been on our minds even more than usual.
At our weekly IRL team meet up, we discussed the steps we’ve been taking to be more sustainable and the areas we’re still struggling with (I, for one, have been trying to cut down on my food waste). This sparked a wider discussion about the barriers which stop us from being more eco-friendly.
As you might expect, time and cost were significant factors - along with the sense that our efforts are merely a drop in the ocean when it comes to climate change. But even small steps towards sustainability can have a positive impact.
So for this week’s edition, we’ve delved into what investing in the planet might realistically look like for us as individuals, signposting five meaningful steps we can all take not just on Earth Day, but in the weeks, months and years to come.
And, as always, you’ll find the usual roundup of the week’s biggest headlines plus the best things to watch, read and listen to this weekend!
Have a good one,
Esther x

Tomorrow is Earth Day, which means it’s the perfect time to show the natural world a little extra love!
This year’s theme is Invest In Our Planet, but we’ve been wondering: what does this actually mean for us as individuals - especially if we’re on a budget, short on time and generally stressed about the future of life as we know it?
So, naturally, we’ve pulled together five actionable ideas for what investing in our planet might realistically look like. At the same time, we want to remind you to invest in yourself - as only by taking care of our own wellbeing can we ensure that we have the energy and motivation to drive real change.

🌟 This week’s spotlight is shining on Izzy, courtesy of this lovely message from her friend Mel, a member of our community.
I wanted to send a huge shoutout to my best friend Izzy, who on Sunday will be running her second London marathon in six months, in support of Alzheimer’s Society.
Izzy has always had running in her blood but dialled it up over the last year after moving in with her athlete boyfriend (and #1 competitor). We all wish we had her gazelle-like stride and could clock up the mileage as quickly as she does! Go Izzy!
Sending lots of love and positive vibes for the big day 🥰
