The Know Daily - Friday 22 September 2023

šŸŒž It’s Friday! Here’s your news roundup, quiz, recs and more

Friday 22 September āˆ™ Read in 5m 24s āˆ™ Listening to Joy Crookes

I hope you’ve all had wonderful weeks. Mine has been spent pretty much entirely indoors (I’m looking at you, grey British skies) and I’ve been trying to embrace the change in seasons.

Last weekend, I spent a lovely few days with my sister before dropping her off at uni for her freshers’ week. In the car on the way there, we found ourselves talking about just how much our relationship has shifted over the years. I then came across this tweet (are they still called tweets?) which I really related to. I’m wondering whether it resonates with anyone else? šŸ‘‡

Also, a quick team update - readers who follow us over on social may have spotted a new face this week. We’re thrilled to welcome Freya, our new content creator, to the team. Hop over to our Instagram or TikTok and give her some love! 🄰

Scroll down for the usual roundup of the week’s biggest headlines, culture recs, our Friday quiz and more! And if you’re in need of something to look forward to, become a friend of The Know by Wednesday to be in with a chance of winning an incredible Unyoked stay (plus you’ll be supporting independent journalism!).

Our wonderful reader Kayla - and her sustainable and size-inclusive clothing company, THEIA BRAND.

Kayla founded THEIA because she felt that the streetwear industry was not inclusive enough, particularly when it came to plus-size options.

Unlike so many other fashion brands, THEIA showcases the beauty and confidence of plus-size women - proving that the comfortably sexy look is for everyone, regardless of their size. All items are stocked from XS to 2XL.

THEIA is also committed to sustainability; all packaging is 100% compostable and a portion of the company’s revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists. We love!
