Bernice Rubens, the first woman to be awarded the Booker prize and the only Welsh winner, has been honoured with a plaque at her family home in Cardiff. Rubens won the literary award in 1970 for her novel The Elected Member, and has been described as āone of the most captivating and versatile novelists of the 20th centuryā.
