Hope you’ve all had wonderful weeks - this one has felt very much like coming out of hibernation for me. After the dark winter months - where I’m so tired by 5pm that I want nothing more than to rewatch Deadloch - I always struggle to get back into the swing of socialising. But it was my birthday on Wednesday, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends and schedule a couple more things on the calendar.

🎧 Spotify posted record quarterly profits of £145m, after cutting its workforce and raising prices last year. 

🎨 Tate Britain revealed the four artists shortlisted for its prestigious Turner Prize, now in its 40th year. 

🇮🇹 Venice introduced a first-of-its-kind entrance fee for daytrippers, with some local residents complaining the city is being turned into a “theme park”.

🌈 Dominica’s High Court overturned a ban on same-sex relations, hailed by activists as a “significant milestone” in the ongoing struggle for LGBTQ rights in the Caribbean. 

⚽ Football coaching was found to boost the wellbeing and happiness of at-risk pupils in English schools.

🦁 South Africa’s cabinet approved a phased end to the captive breeding of lions and rhinos.
