🧭 How to recognise and overcome burnout

Read in 5m 24s ∙ Listening to Tina Turner

Dear readers,

I’m Calypso, Jobs Lead here at The Know, which means I curate purpose-driven career opportunities over on our Jobs Board. I’m also a Self-Discovery Coach, helping people express their most authentic selves at work and beyond.

I’ve been on The Know’s Instagram Stories this week answering all your burning questions about burnout. It’s a topic close to my heart as I experienced serious burnout in my last career as a fashion buyer. For months, I ignored the warning signs - terrible brain fog, not wanting to socialise - until my body finally forced me to stop.

It shouldn’t have got to that stage before I finally took my symptoms seriously - but burnout isn’t always easy to recognise when you’re going through it. That’s why I’ve put together a guide to understanding the symptoms of burnout - as well as my top tips for overcoming it.

This edition also contains the usual roundup of the week’s biggest headlines, along with the team’s recs for the best things to read, listen to and cook, so you can head into the bank holiday weekend with a spring in your step.

We’ll be back in your inboxes on Tuesday 30 May.

Big Love,
