So, from next week we will be publishing the newsletter at 9am GMT, ready for you to enjoy with your morning coffee. ✨
Hello hello!
I’ve recently returned from my travels (yep, it's been a pretty fab start to 2026!). I actually managed to go to Rio Carnival and a Brazilian pal got me all dressed up which really was such a ‘pinch me’ moment.
But anyway, back to reality it is 😂 Luckily, we’ve got lots of exciting projects on the way for the rest of the year which are making me very excited to get back to it. In the meantime, here’s our round-up of the week’s headlines, plus a few culture recs.

I think by this point everyone knows just how much the whole team loves all things Merit, and this sheer eyeshadow has had the group chat buzzing since it first dropped. Consider us influenced. And I don’t say that lightly! I’m a Nelson girl through and through (forever loyal to my trusty shade), and it takes a lot to tempt me to sway. But Merit understood the assignment with this lineup – a pearlescent effect, zero fallout and the fact you can blend it out with your finger in under 30 seconds? I already love the shade Sartorial… but I fear a mini-haul might be calling 👀
🗞 Read: You might have heard of a “DINK” – that blissful couple with Dual Income, No Kids (and cocktails at brunch to prove it). But have you ever heard of an “Alice”? Same, until I read this great explainer that makes sense of all these new internet-y terms trying to map where we sit in the modern economy.
🎧 Listen: Has anyone else seen the theories that Charli XCX is putting the Brat era to bed? To be honest, all the chatter about it has actually thrown me straight back into listening to it on repeat. What 👏 An 👏 Album 👏
📺 Watch: Cancel your plans, the second half of Bridgerton’s fourth season is out (we’re hoping Benedict makes an appointment at Specsavers for this one!). I was a big fan of Scrubs growing up, so I am incredibly excited for the reboot. Also, Amanda Seyfried's new movie has been all over the underground this month, so I think a trip to the cinema is probably on the cards this weekend.
🧑🍳 Cook: This could be a real marmite moment but I will hold my hands up and say I’m a big fan of Battenberg cake (I can’t be the only one?!). Anyway, this recipe for beetroot Battenberg is such a fun take on it.
