The Know Daily - Friday 27 June 2025

Read in 5m 14s ∙ Listening to Dua Lipa

Hello hello,

The sun has well and truly arrived, Lorde’s new album just dropped (hello, perfect soundtrack for aimless walks), and everything’s starting to feel a little more like summer. I’ve been finding myself stretching out the little moments – walking the long way home, reading outside, rediscovering the joy of iced coffees that don’t immediately water themselves down. There’s something about this time of year that invites a slower pace, or at least makes it feel more allowed!

Read on for this week’s headlines, plus a few cultural bits we’ve been loving lately 💖

On Wednesday we covered a recent report that found news avoidance is at an all-time high. When we asked you if you have ever avoided the news in the past, 84% replied with “for sure” while 14% said sometimes and 2% said no.

“I was finding the news a constant stress factor due to its negativity and purposeful push towards panic and sensationalism. So I switched off and completely ignored all ways of seeing the news for years, but this left me feeling cut off from everything. I was so happy when I discovered The Know, and now I recommend it to everyone I talk to, especially those who feel the way I did about the news before. Thank you for providing this fantastic source of information!”
