Happy Friday!

As lots of our readers are on summer holidays right now, I’m curious to know where you opened this email from. Are you soaking up the sights of some far-flung destination, enjoying a (slightly rainy) UK staycation or simply stealing a moment to yourself ahead of an ordinary day of work? Whatever your situation is, we’re so glad that you’re here with us! 🤗

For this week’s Friday edition, we decided to spread the seasonal joy and bring you a selection of our recent summer-themed reads. And, as always, you’ll also find a roundup of the week’s biggest global headlines, our news quiz and the team’s recs for things to watch, read and listen to this weekend.

Have a good one!

“There aren’t any independent bookshops in the area I live so I’m very happy to have filled a gap and be providing locals with fabulous books, book clubs and author events,” she told us.
